Yachting as a Lifestyle, Not Just a Hobby

Yachting is more than just a passive hobby or an activity. It is a lifestyle. Anybody who has sailed before understands the addictiveness and passion for yachting that takes over your mind, body and soul. It only took me one short visit out on the St. Clair River with my grandparents to fall in love. The wind your hair, the sun at your back and the calm that that surrounds you is unprecedented and invaluable. There really are no words to describe the unrivaled feeling you get whether you are driving the yacht or simply laying in the sun as a passive guest.

And there are not many that try it that do not fall in love. I am one of the many enthusiasts even though I do not own a yacht and do not get the opportunity as much as I would like. I would take the opportunity at the drop of a hat to get on a boat, anytime, anyplace and anywhere.

This is the appreciation that was passed down from me by my own grandfather. Even as a small child I saw the passion in his eyes and the love he felt for that boat. He was a different man on his yacht and nothing else seemed to matter. He was at the wheel, with his family and loved ones, good food, good drinks and that is all he needed. That is exactly what yachting is.

A lifestyle that enriches your life and helps you to appreciate what you have.
